Christmas Programme 2014

This year's Christmas programme is now in full swing for Rode Hall Silver Band. The band played for the Congleton Town Christmas lights switch on around the Christmas Tree last Friday and this was followed up on Sunday where we played at the Goostrey Christmas Lights switch on. On both occasions the main band were joined by members of Beartown Brass, our training band. The young players did an excellent job and thoroughly enjoyed the chance to play carols with the main band. It won't be long before we start to see some of the Beartown players integrating into our Thursday evening rehearsals!

The band are busy every week until Christmas now and you can find out where we are playing on our engagements page. Please come along and have a listen at one of our concerts or caroling jobs.

Brass on the Grass, 8th June 2014

The band recently supported the celebrations for Congleton Band Stand reaching 100 years old. The event was organised by the Friends of Congleton Park.

The band played two sets of music during the afternoon and we were also joined by guest soloist, Glyn Williams from the Fodens band. Glyn played the Euphonium solo Myfany as well as performing a duet with our own euph soloist Simon Crowley. Together they performed 'Deep inside the Sacred Temple' from 'The Pearl Fishers'.

Silk Brass also played two great sets of music and other musical acts also entertained a large crowd.
